TaeKwonDo Benefits

There are many benefits for children learning martial arts, TaeKwonDo in particular. These benefits are easily seen when your child is participating in classes, aside from the general fun they have in the process!

TaeKwonDo brings together the essence and understanding of how crucial it is to develop the proper attitude towards others and situations. Being respectful to someone is always the right thing to do! The unseen results of adopting a positive and respectful attitude are many and often open the doors to great opportunities.

Here are some of the benefits of TaeKwonDo

Character Development

TaeKwonDo curriculum assists kids and teens in developing their character to influence and impact others in a positive way. It helps them to become leaders and role models within their communities and outside it.

The TaeKwonDo curriculum’s focus is on raising confident leaders and role models to play positive roles within their communities and families. Parents have peace of mind when knowing their children are role models and their friends follow their lead rather than the other way around, which can have a large negative influence on developing their character.

Bullying Prevention

It is very clear the problem kids, teens, and even adults are facing these days dealing with bullies. Self-defense and attitude both play large roles in stopping these occurrences. During classes, we discuss the problem, how to avoid it, and how to defend ourselves. It will give you the confidence to stand up to these types of situations and how to handle them properly.

Self Defense

Students learn self-defense and most importantly the correct attitude to avoid confrontations. The program includes stand-up and ground self-defense techniques to give you the knowledge on how to handle situations accordingly.

Self Confidence

When children learn and master a new move or skill, they experience a sense of achievement, which naturally boosts their confidence. These moments are many learning this art since it takes time and dedication to become a black belt! Even from that point, there is always room for growth!

Strength and Conditioning

TaeKwonDo is physically challenging while still being fit for any current fitness level. In this sport you start with basics and work your way up. The training improves muscle strength, heart health, agility, balance, physical awareness, and coordination! It is great for kids and their physical development to improve adult’s physical capabilities.

Children must learn to be good listeners in this sport, both in one-on-one situations with instructors and in class settings. Without this skill, they will not be able to grow and learn proper technique in the sport. When children work hard and pay attention, they are rewarded with the accomplishment of moving up in the belt system. This encourages growth and focus by providing goals that feel attainable.

Conflict Resolution

Although this discipline originated for combat, it is not an aggressive sport. It is a common misconception that the martial arts promote aggressive and violent behavior. The basic training of TaeKwonDo is self-defense, not antagonism! This sport teaches peaceful conflict resolution, encouraging the idea that physical confrontation can be avoided.

Weight Loss

The workouts and class structure are always fun and diverse. Naturally, students will lose weight due to the intensity of the exercises. Martial Arts training exercises work the entire body, always burning high amounts of calories. If your goal is to lose weight, you can easily accomplish it by practicing martial arts!
